Traveling solo can be scary. And it will be, especially the first time. You’re alone. No one can help you. You’re in a foreign country. You don’t speak the language. You don’t know what you’re doing. These were all fears I had before going on my first trip alone. As it turned out, most of those fears aren’t true and the others are only half as bad
After staying at the Yosemite South Koa Campground for a night we went for a quick dip in the pool, packed up all of our things and headed towards Las Vegas. This is a long journey so we’re going to do this in 2 days because driving all day long can be very exhausting even if you’re not driving. After driving along plantations for what felt like forever, the landscape began to be less green.
Our RV was not the biggest fan of the route we took from Lake Tahoe to Yosemite National Park. First we went up Luther pass (el. 2,359m), then Monitor pass (el. 2,534m) and finally Tioga pass (el. 3,031m). Our RV did it like a pro without complaining and we were glad it didn’t break down.
It’s already been quite a while since I came back from my road trip across the western United States. I uploaded videos every single day (almost, I missed one) but I wanted to go a bit more into detail and write a few things about it here. So, let’s begin. Here’s a map of our entire road trip.
One thing that I always have with me when I’m traveling are my headphones. These do definitely belong on my essential travel items list. Sometimes for listening to music on a long bus journey, sometimes for editing a new video and sometimes to watch a movie on a flight. Because, let’s be honest, nothing is worse than airplane headphones. I’ve been carrying around three different pairs of headphones lately to find out which are the best headphones for me and I wanted to share my experiences with you here.
2016 is already here and I’m looking forward to what this new year brings for me. I had an amazing year 2015 and made a video about a few of my favorite experiences last year. What were your favorite things last year?
If you aren’t subscribed to my YouTube channel (which you totally should) you might have missed out on daily videos from my road trip. But don’t worry, it’s the internet so you can still watch it all. There is now a handy playlist with all the videos from the trip. To get you started, here is the very first video. Enjoy!
In the year 2015 you want to stay connected to the world. You might need it for work or only for fun. Or as a tool with maps and directions to find your way around a foreign country. If you ever used your phone abroad you probably noticed that it’s crazy expensive. That’s because carriers are run by terrible people.
I had two weeks off this summer. I knew that almost since the beginning of the year but I had no idea what to do during those two weeks. I ended up booking a flight to Thailand. One day in advance. I knew nothing about Thailand, had no idea what I was going to do there and where I’d stay. Oh, and I also went there alone.
St. Moritz is a popular skiing destination in the winter with fancy hotels and great ski slopes. But it also offers a lot during summer. From hiking over biking to surfing there is a lot of fun activities you can do around and in St. Moritz.
